Graphics=9.5
It's graphics are impressive for the SNES. The characters look much batter than in the original  Breath of Fire, and the enemies have also improved.The spell effects are just plain cool.

Sound=9.2
The music is usually rreally good, like Square soft quality, but the battle musiccan get VERY annoting especially when you're stuck in a dungeon and keep running into enemies.

Play Control=9.6
The controls are pretty much standard for a SNES Rpg [A is comand, B is cance,l X is menu]. They're easy to learn and easy to use. Nothing much new or special here. Overall the play control is Excellent in Breath of Fire II.

Specials, Inginuity, and Replay=9.8
The game is very original. Teh battle system is as standard as standard gets, but  some ideas like the Shaman / transformation is really creative. Because of township and multiple endings BoF II is worht a second play.

Challenge=8.8 Advanced Level
The game starts out fairly easy but some of the last bosses are pretty tough. It's not exactly a beginer's Rpg, but still it's pretty easy to beat except for the bosses [which are really tough so I marked the difficulty up].

Overall=9.5 = A
The game really is pretty good, it's really worth at least playing, probably even worht buying. In fact this is probably the best of the BoF games. The only complaint I have is that the dungeons can be long and tedious.

If you liked this game try:
1. Breath of Fire
2. Breath of Fire III
3. Breath of Fire IV
4. Lufia and the Fortress of Doom
5. Chrono Trigger
